IMPORTANT FIXTURE UPDATES

Poole have further shuffled their fixture list, following this coming Wednesday's postponement of their league match against Scunthorpe, as to avoid clashing with England's crucial World Cup semi-final match against Argentina.

Initially, the two clubs had agreed to run at Wimborne Road on Friday 7th August, to avoid two home fixtures that week, but it has now been rescheduled to Wednesday 12th August.

Poole promoter Dan Ford explains the reasoning behind the change of plan,

"We had been asked by the BSPL to move the Pairs meeting from the planned 8th August to the Wednesday (12th) as several Saturday-night clubs are currently short of available dates on which to stage re-arranged fixtures, That meant we were working with Scunthorpe to reschedule this week's match without August 12th being an option. However, after further discussions it was decided to defer the Pairs until September, with a new date to be determined.  

"So, with the 8th August now clear, we can also confirm that we will visit Berwick for our outstanding Championship fixture on that date.

'We can only apologise to all fans who may be affected by this shuffling of dates but I can genuinely say it is due to reasons beyond the club's direct control."

The Pirates also have re-arranged dates for their outstanding visits to Oxford (31st July) and Glasgow (21st August).

So, the new fixture calendar for Poole's league matches now shows:
