BRENNAN BACK BUT NOT AS PIRATE
Another top four club arrive at Wimborne Road with the Scunthorpe Scorpions providing Wednesday's opposition, with Tom Brennan on their side.
Poole Speedway can confirm that the scheduled visit of Scunthorpe to Wimborne Road next Wednesday has been postponed in light of the on-going progress of the England Lions in the FIFA World cup.
An extra-time victory over Norway late Saturday night has put England into the semi-finals and that fixture will be played on Wednesday night.
Poole promoter Dan Ford confirmed the Pirates' postponement, saying
"whilst we are delighted with England qualifying for the semi-finals it does mean that we are going to miss out on racing again this week. But it would be ridiculous for us to try and race against such a big game for England, so in agreement with the Scunthorpe promotion we will reschedule Wednesday's speedway to Friday 7th August."
All purchased tickets remain valid for the restaging date or email info@poole-speedway.com for a refund.
The postponement means Poole's next meeting will still be against Scunthorpe but away rather than at home. Poole will travel to the North Lincs club on Friday 17th July and remain in the north for a trip to Workington on Saturday 18th.
UPDATE The Restaging Date has now been revised for Wednesday 12th August at 7.30pm - see latest story
