There is a unified feeling amongst the Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates that they can go one better in 2026 and secure the league, cup and BSN...
COMEBACK kid Kyle Newman was the beneficiary of the first handout of the season by the Rider\'s Equipment Fund.
Prior to last night\'s home meeting against Birmingham, which the Pirates eventually won 48-42, Newman was presented with a cheque for £500 from Stacey Home.
It was an eventful night for Newman who in his first ride back from a ruptured thigh tangled with Simon Lambert in heat 2 and ended up pitched on the airfence. Whilst disqualifed from that heat Newman bravely battled on and took four further riders.
Afterwards, in thanking the generosity of the REF organisation he admitted that \"I probably came back too soon, I am pretty sore right now and feeling it, but I am very thankful to the fans of Poole for their donation this evening. It is very much appreciated and I would like to think that once I get back to full fitness I will be able to score much better than I managed tonight.
