High excitement, total effort and moments of controversy are all but guaranteed on Wednesday night when knockout speedway comes to Wimborne Road.
The recent rescheduling of Leicester's SGB Premiership fixture against King's Lynn to Thursday 11th May has had a knock-on effect for the plans for the staging of last season's Jubilee Cup final against the Pirates.
Whilst Poole's home leg will still go ahead on Wednesday 31st May, Leicester have requested that they defer the corresponding fixture, originally planned for Saturday 13th May, to a later date in their schedule.
Explaining the change of plans, Poole promoter Dan Ford acknowledged "we can understand from Leicester's point of view that having two home meetings in such a short time span does not make sound economic sense. It is not fair on their supporters to have to fund two meetings and whilst the 13th May was an ideal fit when we initially agreed the dates, we have to accept that league matches take precedence and their recent postponement needed rescheduling.
We are continuing to work with Leicester to find a suitable date for what will obviously now be the second leg as we are committed to fulfilling this fixture.
