PIRATE BEN

9/05/14

Poole have signed Ben Hopwood to fill the vacancy in their number 7 berth.

The 23 year old rode as a guest for the Pirates in their 13 point win over his birth-city club on Wednesday evening and was immediately added to the Pirates declared 1-7.

A nominated rider of the official draft scheme, Hopwood will also feature in the National League for Stoke having joined the Potters during the winter on loan from his parent club Rye House.

The Pirates had originally issued the paperwork for Benji Compton to link up with them but a broken scaphoid sustained whilst guesting for Swindon at Lakeside scuppered those plans.
