DAN HEADING FOR NUMBER TEN
New signing Dan Gilkes will be making his tenth team appearance at Wimborne Road when the tapes go up on Good Friday (6.30pm).
The Pirates will take on King’s Lynn in the club’s final meeting of 2019 on Wednesday, October 9 – with supporters being offered discounted admission.
The rearranged clash from June 13’s washout will see the Pirates bring down the curtain on their 2019 campaign and is the final chance for supporters to see live speedway for six months.
The club has reduced admission prices for the meeting against the Stars, with an adult ticket costing £15 and children under-12 going free.
Promoter Matt Ford said: “Obviously Saturday’s result against Ipswich wasn’t the one we wanted and it was a disappointing end to the season.
“But it’s important to remember we did finish top of the league and the boys really put in some great performances over the course of the season, providing great entertainment along the way.
“As the season is now drawing to a close, we wanted to get this one outstanding meeting on but also say thank you to the fans for their support over the season by reducing admission prices and allowing children under 12 in for free.
“I hope this will also tempt people who have not been to speedway for a while to visit us and perhaps encourage a few new fans to come along and experience the sport.”
