The club was this morning waiting for confirmation of the injuries sustained by both Nico Covatti and Richie Worrall following a nasty track crash in last night’s clash against Belle Vue.
Worrall and Covatti collided in heat eight with the Argentine racer attempting to chase down the Aces’ Dimitri Berge.
Both men required lengthy on-track treatment and were both transferred to Poole Hospital.
Racing at Wimborne Road did not resume until almost 10pm, with the meeting declared after heat 12 as a 37-35 victory to the Pirates due to strict curfew rules at the stadium.
Co-promoter Danny Ford confirmed this morning that the club was waiting on results of scans for both riders, with Worrall having sustained an ankle injury and Covatti damage to his ribs.
Ford said: “We don’t know the extent of the damage to either Richie or Nico at the moment, but will know more when they’ve had scans today.
“Both of them were in high spirits this morning despite it being a really nasty crash as everyone in the stadium will have seen.
“To be honest, we could be looking at a season on the sidelines or a month for both of them – we really won’t know until they’ve had the scans.
“I’d like to thank the supporters for their patience while the racing was delayed.
“Quite clearly in this case the highest priority is, and always should be, the welfare of the riders after an incident like the one we unfortunately witnessed last night.”
The club will update supporters with official news on both Covatti and Worrall as soon as we have it.
