ROCKETMAN LAUNCHES TEAM PLANS FOR 2026
The architect of the past eight trophies for the Pirates, Richard Lawson, will be back for a fifth term in 2026.
Matt Ford confirmed the Pirates and Ipswich had taken an early decision to call off Monday (23rd) night’s SGB Premiership play-off semi-final first leg with both the supporters and broadcaster BT Sport in mind.
With the forecast looking far from ideal for racing, the club decided to postpone the clash to save supporters and BT Sport from travelling.
Promoter Ford said: “The forecast does not look good at all tomorrow and we’ve tried to be sympathetic to both the fans and BT Sport by calling it off early.
“Putting live speedway on TV is costly, as is travel for supporters, so we felt it best to make an early call, as frustrating as it is.”
The first leg will now take place at Wimborne Road on Thursday (7.30pm), with the second leg scheduled for Foxhall on Saturday.
