DEFENDING CHAMPIONS NEED FIFTY

Poole promoter Dan Ford is looking forward to fifteen heats of intense speedway racing on Wednesday night (7th October) with the destiny of the 2026 SGB Cab Direct Championship title still very much on the line.

The Pirates go into the second leg needing to overcome an 8-point deficit from last Friday's away visit to Scunthorpe.

Ford claims:

"This is going to be tough on Wednesday, obviously I am happy that the lads managed to limit the damage on Friday to single digits. There were phases of the meeting up there when we could easily have been looking at a much bigger target, but the boys dug deep when it mattered and have given us a good chance of completing another double this season. But Scunthorpe are not going to give up their advantage without a fight and as I said last week, our strength could well be on the terraces. If the crowd come out and give us the vocal backing, as they so often do, then it can certainly fire up our lads if things do get a bit nervy out there. The lads showed true Pirate passion in the first leg and I have no doubt that we have the ability to retain the title, but there is going to be a lot of hard work and effort needed, both on and off-the-track,  if we are  to achieve our goal."

Poole will be unchanged from the seven that battled to 41 points at Scunthorpe on Friday whilst the Scorpions have been forced into a change due to the aggravation of a collarbone injury that has seen Jacob Hook stood down on medical grounds for a 14-day period. They have called upon the services of Jordan Jenkins to guest at number three.

Admission prices for adults and concessions have been increased by £2, to £24 and £21 respectively, for this meeting and advanced tickets can be purchased via the club's website ticketing portal.
