BRENNAN BACK BUT NOT AS PIRATE

Another top four club arrive at Wimborne Road with the Scunthorpe Scorpions providing Wednesday's opposition, with Tom Brennan on their side.

Poole moved a point clear at the top of the table on Saturday night with a point at Berwick, one which Pirates promoter Dan Ford felt should have been  three 

"I don't believe it will make much difference with the way the play-offs are shaping up, but we had Berwick on the ropes on their own patch and let it slip. Probably, it makes a win against Scunthorpe just a bit more important as that would put three points on to our total. Once again we have no Richard (Lawson) as his 7-day suspension is still in place but in Nick Morris we have a ride in a rich vein of form. We have also booked Jordan Jenkins for Kyle  (Newman) and are reviewing our other options at reserve. I  know the lads were disappointed not to get over the line on Saturday and that will make them hungrier on Wednesday. I am equally certain that many Poole fans will be keen to see Tom Brennan back here for the first time since 2024. Tom was integral to our treble winning team and although he will be in opposition he should get one of the very warm receptions that ex-Pirates so often experience on their returns.

The Scorpions will be without their tour de force Josh Pickering who has picked up an injury and so it will be a rare opportunity for former Pirate Tom Brennan to make a Championship appearance this season and the Scorpions recent signing Jacob Hook will be making his second appearance in Britain this year.
