FORD EXCITED BY HEAT LEADER TRIO

Poole promoter Dan Ford admits that having pieced together three strong heat leaders again, the Pirates could be in a strong position to further enhance the club's impressive trophy haul.

Since dropping into the second tier of British season the Pirates have won the league title on four occasions - 2021, 2022, 2024 & 2025 - and completed the league and cup double in those years. In addition they have twice won the BSN Series.

Ford said "we are really pleased with how the 2026 team has come together. We've got three strong heat leaders in Richard Lawson, Zach Cook and Lewi Kerr. Both Zach and Lewi have room to improve their averages, while, with Richard there isn't a great deal of room for improvement - but that's because he is already the best rider in the league."
