Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates return to league action at Wimborne Road and face a mighty tussle against the strong looking Redcar 'Agilia' Bears (Wednesday 11th June, 7.30pm).
Whilst the Pirates have won three out of their four league fixtures ridden so far, the Bears have completed just one SGB Cab Direct Championship meeting this term, beating the Oxford Cheetahs by six points at the ECCO Arena.
Promoter Dan Ford is well aware of the magnitude of this meeting, "we have two evenly matched sides going head to head on Wednesday and it is going to be very tough. Poole fans need no reminding just what Danny King is capable of around here and he is great support from both Charles Wright and Erik Riss. Throw in Jake Mulford and Jason Edwards then you can see that they have the riders capable of picking up some big points. That said, we still haven't seen our side click as a unit so far. There is a lot more to come, I'm sure, from Lewi (Kerr) and Zach (Cook). Those two are more than capable of putting in double figure returns and so far they have recorded just five between them. As a team we really need to get dialled in from the very off and not give Redcar any opportunity whatsoever as they are the kind of side that will capitalise on any gifts.
"I have to say I was proud of the whole team on Friday at Glasgow. I don't think many sides will go there and get a result and now we have those points in the bag we really need to focus on cashing in on our home matches."
"Wednesday has all the making of a classic and I make a plea to all fans to come along and get behind the Pirates as the lads really do appreciate the vocal support that we can generate."
