Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates are preparing for at least two visits to Redcar in the course of October after the Cleveland club confirmed their place in the MaxiCab KO Cup final by just edging out last year's finalists Oxford on Sunday, after a superheat decider.
The Pirates know they are heading to the ECCO Arena next Sunday (5th October) for the second leg of the Cab Direct Championship Play-Off Semi-final, defending just a six point advantage, with the right to meet Glasgow in the league title deciding final, but that will also now be a rehearsal for the Cup final against the Bears.
A third visit would also be on the cards should Redcar defeat Glasgow in the BSN series semi-finals, with the concluding leg scheduled for the 10th October in which the Bears currently trail by just two points.
