Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates head for Cleveland on Sunday in what now has become the first leg of their SGB Cab Direct Championship play-off semi-final against the strongly fancied Redcar Bears.
With the Pirates looking for a fifth consecutive tier two play-off final and a fifteenth all-time title deciding final, the stakes could hardly be higher, as Poole promoter recognises "our distinguished record of the past is something to be very proud of and it serves as a driver to us as a club because we want the success to continue, but we know there could be a big road-block in our way, facing Redcar. They are on a strong run of form, which doesn't surprise me and like us, they are chasing a potential treble this season, so we know it is going to be tough. Redcar is a track where our riders have performed well in the past and we will need those contributions on Sunday and then again next Tuesday as we attempt to continue the defence of our league title."
Poole will be unchanged from the side that was due to race last Tuesday at Wimborne Road, whilst Redcar call upon Jake Allen to guest in place of the ill Erik Riss.
Teams:
Redcar (TM Gavin Parr) 1 Charles Wright (Capt) 2 Jake Mulford 3 Jason Edwards 4 Jake Allen (Guest) 5 Danny King 6 Jody Scott 7 Ace Pijper
Poole (TM Gary Havelock) 1 Richard Lawson 2 Tobias Thomsen 3 Lewis Kerr 4 Zach Cook (Capt) 5 Anders Rowe 6 Paul Starke 7 William Cairns
