DAN HEADING FOR NUMBER TEN
New signing Dan Gilkes will be making his tenth team appearance at Wimborne Road when the tapes go up on Good Friday (6.30pm).
The Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates will host the first leg of the Championship play-off semi-final on TUESDAY 9th September at 7.30pm.
Having finished second in the table the Pirates opponents will be the third highest finishing side - the Redcar Bears.
Referencing the change of race-day for the Pirates, Poole promoter Dan Ford explained "It is not ideal to be staging a Play-off semi-final on a Tuesday, but to go on the next available Wednesday would mean waiting until 24th September, which would have been four weeks since our last home fixture. We did offer Redcar a Friday night, but that was declined."
Ford added "It is a very frustrating situation because we have done our job and completed our fixtures on time, yet with other BSN and KO cup ties dragging on. we have been left waiting around."
The Pirates still wait on a confirmed date for the return leg of the play-off semi-final at Redcar.
