DAN HEADING FOR NUMBER TEN
New signing Dan Gilkes will be making his tenth team appearance at Wimborne Road when the tapes go up on Good Friday (6.30pm).
For the third time this season the exciting looking fixture between the Poole Pirates and Plymouth Gladiators has fallen victim to adverse weather.
The two sides were due to meet tonight (Wednesday 22nd May) but the meeting has been delayed by 48 hours and will now be contested on Friday 24th May, just 24 hours before the two sides meet in the return fixture at the Coliseum, Plymouth.
Confirming tonight's postponement Dan Ford stated, "the weather has conspired against us once again with yellow warnings in place and rain throughout the day. We have moved swiftly to re-arrange the fixture for Friday as we are keen to get our group matches completed as soon as possible, so that the competition can progress to the semi-final stages, of which we are determined to be part of.
"Although Fridays are not a regular race-night for us, we are hoping that we can still attract a good, enthusiastic crowd and with, generally, no school on Saturday, those levels may be increased, especially with our 'kids go free' offer."
