PREVIEW: CHEETAHS BACK IN TOWN - HIGH DRAMA ASS...
High excitement, total effort and moments of controversy are all but guaranteed on Wednesday night when knockout speedway comes to Wimborne Road.
Under the watchful eye of former Poole captain, Alun Rossiter, a Swindon Robins Select side will be facing the 2023 Poole Wessex Marine Pirates in a special challenge on May 10th.
Poole promoter Dan Ford announced the addition to the fixture list claiming, "We all know how disappointing it is to lose clubs and whilst Swindon are presently without a base we felt that we couldn't turn down the opportunity to help keep the Swindon name in the limelight, given that over the years there have been many exciting clashes between Poole sides and our Wiltshire neighbours, so we are delighted to be able to slot in this challenge meeting.
"I am sure that Rosco will be keen to assemble a strong Swindon side, just as he had planned on Wednesday night when the Robins were due to race at Oxford and the extra track time will only serve a good purpose for our boys. We have a bit of lull in our fixtures in early May so opening up one of the dates for this meeting means that we can provide some speedway racing for our fans."
Further details of the meeting will be made available in due course, but fans are urged to make a note in their diaries for this fixture addition.
