Poole's SGB Championship title assault begins with a local derby against rivals Somerset Rebels, when no doubt memories of the remarkable semi-final clash of 2018 will spring to mind, when the Pirates sealed their place in the final to win their last Premiership title.
The club's first official team fixture in their new surroundings of the Championship comes one week after the Neil Middleditch Testimonial Meeting launches the 2020 campaign which is being staged on Wednesday 25th March.
The first appearance 'on the road' for the Pirates will be a 4th April (Saturday) trip to coastal rivals Eastbourne..
Poole's Good Friday fixture will see Eastbourne visiting Wimborne Road and with that being the only meeting that day (in a break from recent tradition) the start time has been set for 7.30pm.
Poole's first visit to fellow Championship newcomers, Kent, will take place on Wednesday 13th May, just one week after the Kent Kings make their first ever appearance at Wimborne Road.
Under the 2020 format of the SGB Championship each club has been allocated to either the Northern or Southern group, with each team riding against a fellow group member twice at home and twice away, whilst only making one appearance, home and away, against opposite group sides.
Poole, Birmingham, Eastbourne, Kent, Leicester and Somerset make up the Southern Group, with Berwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Redcar and Scunthorpe the Northern section.
The Pirates' Press and Practice day, to which season ticket holders are invited, will be announced soon.
