EASTER PREVIEW
The Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates face a tough opening fixture on Good Friday (6pm) when they welcome Devonshire cousins Plymouth Gladiator...
Promoter Danny Ford hailed a true one-to-seven performance as the No1 Carpet Cleaning Poole Pirates got their 2019 campaign off to a flying start.
The Pirates Class of 2019 registered three 5-1 heat wins in the final four races to storm past King’s Lynn 50-40 in their own back yard last night.
That gave the Pirates a 10-point Premiership Shield margin to take into the second leg against the Stars at Wimborne Road on Thursday (7.30pm).
Ford said: “While it’s important to remember we’re still only in April, the performance last night was excellent.
“The fact that all seven riders contributed on away shale is hugely encouraging and is testament to the team spirit and bond that has already been struck up between the riders this year.”
