KURTZ HOPING TO FOREGO SURGERY

3/10/18

BRADY KURTZ has confirmed that he sustained a broken collarbone in his racing crash on Monday at Wimborne Road, but is hopeful that it will be a natural healing process and he can avoid any surgery.

Kurtz caught the rear wheel of his compatriot Jack Holder in heat four of the Pirates semi-final play-off meeting, which they went on to win in dramatic style. Both riders were catapulted into the airbarrier and both suffered injuries to the shoulder area.

Whilst Kurtz's visit to Poole Hospital revealed he had broken his clavicle the diagnosis on Holder was less conclusive and he is seeking an MRI operation to establish the full extent of his damage.
