MONDAY night sees the visit of the 'Cases' Somerset Rebels to Wimborne Road for a mouth-watering SGB Premiership fixture, as both sides try to secure their places in the end-of-season play-offs.
With this the first of three league contests between the Pirates and the Rebels due this month, the two clubs that have plenty of connections, could find themseles going head to head in the play-offs.
Visiting captain, the defending world champion, Jason Doyle and Jack Holder have both previously been Pirates whilst Poole captain Josh Grajczonek, fellow Australian Brady Kurtz and Richie Worrall have all worn the Rebels colours in the past.
The Rebels have already raided at Wimborne Road this season, claiming a second leg knockout cup victory back in June by four points, so the Pirates will be keen to avoid a similar fate and maintain their solid run of form. Unbeaten at home since that cup tie the Pirates have fired in some big scores with their last three matches all having been won by a margin of 20 points or more.
Both teams have declared their full one-to-seven for this league encounter which gets underway at 7.30pm with the meeting sponsored by Wessex Marine.
Teams (from):
Poole: Josh Grajczonek (Capt); Chris Harris; Nicolai Klindt; Brady Kurtz; Richie Worrall; Frederik Jakobsen and Kacper Woryna
Somerset: Nico Covatti; Jason Doyle (Capt); Jack Holder; Richard Lawson; Aaron Summers; Jake Allen and Bradley Wilson-Dean
