Riding in the British U21 semi-final at Eastbourne, Shanes, who scored paid 7 for Sheffield on Thursday as the Tigers beat Newcastle 59-31, will be up against the likes of Max Clegg, Zach Wajtknecht, Tom Brennan and Jordan Jenkins.
The second semi-final takes place at Newcastle on Sunday with the final scheduled for Birmingham, provisionally on 17th April
