AUSSIE young gun Brady Kurtz is returning to the Pirates line-up for a third successive season.
The 21-year-old from New South Wales becomes the Poole Volvo Cars’ first confirmed signing for the club’s milestone 70th anniversary season and goes into the Wimborne Road one-to-seven on an 8.08 average.
Kurtz is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects to come from Down Under since the emergence of Pirates favourite Darcy Ward and will be a key man as promoter Matt Ford looks to top the anniversary celebrations with an tenth top-flight title.
Ford said: "I couldn't be happier that Brady is returning to Poole to race in such an important season for the club.
"It was never in doubt that I would offer Brady a place in the team and I hope he is here for many more years to come. He's extremely easy to deal with and gets along superbly with the rest of the team.
"His signing is a real statement of intent that this club is quickly overcoming the disappointment of last season and looking to secure an eighth top-flight title in what is a milestone year for us"
Brady has seen his average evolve from 5.24 when he joined the Pirates in 2016 to an all-time high of 8.91 during the course of last season. After a mid-season injury he saw that figure drop slightly to his current figure but still finished the 2017 campaign as the 7th highest averaged rider in the SGB Premiership.
