VOLVO CARS POOLE PIRATES skipper HANS ANDERSEN has seen his chances of a return to the GP series in 2018 scuppered after a disappointing return from his Olching qualfication round.
The Dane scored just 6 points in a meeting that was dominated by his fellow countryman and former Pirate Leon Madsen. The Poole captain couldn't make headway in his opening ride despite applying pressure to former GP rider Martin Smolinski, but he did open his account in his second outing with a third place finish.
After sharing an intense early battle in heat 12 with Martin Vaculik, Andersen had to settle for second place, a position he repeated in the very next heat when headed home by Kenneth Bjerre. In his final outing he collected a single point for his third place behind race winner Adrian Miedzinski and second place Kai Huckenbeck, to finish on 6 points which positioned him in 11th place overall.
