POOLE v WORKINGTON: DATE CHANGE
Poole Speedway can announce a change to their fixture schedule in July with the Workington Comets now coming to Wimborne Road on Wednesday 23rd Jul...
Polish World Cup star Krzysztof Kasprzak is the latest addition to the starting line – up for the Darcy Ward Invitational at Poole Stadium on 24 March, stepping in to replace fellow countryman Maciej Janowski ,who has failed in his battle to overcome a shoulder injury in time for this event.
Janowski suffered a broken collarbone while riding in Italy earlier this month, and had been undergoing extensive physiotherapy treatment in an attempt to be able to take his place in the line--up at Poole. But the former Poole Pirates captain’s recovery has not been as fast as was expected, leaving Ward to look for a suitable replacement for the Grand Prix star.
"It’s a blow to my plans’ admitted Darcy Ward ‘ as I was looking forward to Magic racing at Poole again. It’s also a blow for the Poole fans as Magic is a big favourite with all of them. However I have been lucky to get another Poole favourite, Krzysztof Kasprzak, to take his place."
"Krzysztof was supposed to have been riding in Poland, but the meeting has now been postponed which allows him to take part in my meeting. He is racing for Poole this year and rides the Poole track as well as anyone and I can’t thank him enough for answering my call."
Polish international Kasprzak was equally pleased to have the chance to get to grips with the Poole track prior to the start of the league season. "I was sorry to hear that Magic was unable to race" he said "but am very happy that Darcy thought of me."
"I should have been riding for Gorzow in Poland but that meeting has now been postponed which allows me to ride for Darcy. He was second to none when he was racing and it will be an honour for me to race for him.’
