REACTION: PIRATES GLIDE INTO SEMI-FINALS

ADAM ELLIS is planning his track comeback this evening in the first of the three-round world U21 championship.
The 20 year old Poole flier sustained a broken collarbone in the Pirates' last away meeting which was last Bank Holiday Monday (30th May) but feels he should be ready to take his place in the 16-strong field that compete in the first of three finals this evening at the Adrian Flux Arena, King's Lynn.
It will be the first racing Ellis has done since his crash at Swindon having decided to pull-out of an open meeting in France last weekend where his fellow Poole team-mate Brady Kurtz finished fifth in the final, a meeting that also featured Kyle Newman.
With the world title decided on the aggregate scores over the three rounds Ellis wanted to give himself as much chance of being in the mix by the time the championship concludes in Gdansk on October 2nd, with the middle round being staged in Pardubice on September 16th. He admitted "ideally I would have liked a little bit longer but to be fair it has been improving a lot and hopefully track conditions won't be too demanding. I just want to get some points on the board as I have worked hard to qualify and what to give myself every possible chance of going for the title."
