CURTAILED QUALIFIER COSTS KURTZ

21/05/16

Hopes of Brady Kurtz reaching the finals of the World U21 championship were dashed in a wet Manchester on Saturday night.

The final qualifier meeting was curtailed after each rider had taken 3 rides as rain lashed down at the new National Stadium and the result called at the end of heat 12.

Brady was on 5 points having run a last place in his first ride and then showed considerable improvement with a second and third place. But his chances of reining in the leaders and squeeze into a top four slot were dashed once the decision to declare an early end was made.

His fellow compatriot Jack Holder booked one of the qualifying places, scoring 8 points for overall second place, with Dimitri Berge declared the winner (9) and Mikkel B Andersen and Erik Riss claiming the other two spots with 7 points a piece.
