FORD ACKNOWLEDGES ROBINS' CO-OPERATION

13/05/16

Poole boss Matt Ford has expressed his wish to publicly thank the management team of the Swindon Robins for their co-operation with the recent fixture change.

The Pirates announced that their planned trip to the Abbey Stadium on Thursday 26th May will now be staged at 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday, 30th May, and Ford claimed "I am really grateful to Terry Russell, Colin Pratt and Alun Rossiter for their co-operation in finding this alternative date. Had we been left with visiting them on the Thursday then we would have been without skipper and Hans Andersen and most probably Krzysztof Buczkowski due to the European championship rounds."

"The gesture by Swindon in agreeing to swtich dates is highly appreciated and does illustrate that despite many of the moans and groans that are abound in speedway, clubs can, and often do, work together in the best interests of the sport. Being without two of our key riders would have been more favourable for Swindon to leave the date unchanged but clearly they are looking at the wider picture and working with us to try and ensure we can have a competitive meeting."
