Pirates Hope for "Ritch (Pick)ings"
Swindon-born Darryl Ritchings is adding a third club to his 2025 season by agreeing to step into the Poole side for a temporary period.
KELVIN Tatum says he can't wait to return to Wimborne Road for an evening of speedway chat on Wednesday week (February 24).
The two-time British Champion will be visiting the home of the Poole Pirates for a second consecutive year as part of a pre-season tour with fellow broadcaster Nigel Pearson.
Tatum says it promises to be a great evening and is "stunned" by the response once again.
"We couldn't believe quite how many people came to see us at Wimborne Road last year and to sell as many tickets as we have done with a week to go is unbelievable," Tatum commented.
"We've already done two legs of our tour at Coventry and King's Lynn - everybody had a really enjoyable night and I'm sure Poole will be no different.
"We've got 'Monster Joe' Parsons coming along and it will be interesting to hear some of his stories from his role in the sport too.
"Nige and I will have a bit of a chinwag on stage but there's plenty of ways the audience can get involved too.
"We'll have a Q&A in the second half and there's also a chance to commentate alongside myself too which as gone down really well so far on the tour.
"We're in for another great night and we'd love to see even more supporters turn up on the night again too!"
Admission will be available on the door charged at £8 per person with a donation from the evening being made to the Darcy Ward Foundation.
Tatum & Pearson quote T-Shirts will also be available alongside a number of commemorative, souvenir brochures.
Supporters will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the British Championship Trophy - kindly lent by reigning Champion Tai Woffinden.
A raffle including some fantastic speedway goodies and memorabilia will also be held while auction items include a signed Mark Loram replica Poole race jacket from his time at the club, plus a limited edition Tai Woffinden World Champion race jacket.
