Pirates’ Team manager, Neil Middleditch has agreed to put in a special appearance for the Riders' Equipment Fund as an exclusive fundraiser for the Darcy Ward Foundation.
The Poole Supremo will be on stage in the main stand of Poole Stadium to open up to fans about all things speedway on Wednesday 10th February.
Organisers have promised a special evening of stories and chat which aims to get behind the scenes of the Pirates and reveal many previously untold episodes from ‘Middlo’s’ career as a rider, team boss and former England Team Manager.
Host, Nigel Leahy, says it’s going to be quite a night, Middlo is up for it as a fundraiser for Darcy and has promised a no holds barred and frank discussion with plenty of talking points.
“I aim to get lots of the stuff that people don’t readily hear and to get Neil’s unique take on things. We will also be checking out the latest news on Darcy as he settles in back home and the evening will close with an open session where people can put their own questions to Middlo.
We hope people will be inspired to turn out for Darcy and enjoy a fascinating evening. We also hope to include at least one other famous face but we will keep fans posted on that”.
Admission to the event is £8 per person as a suggested minimum fee however, as a fundraiser, the REF are appealing for people to donate more if they would like or are able.
It is hoped to have some memorabilia for sale at the event too.
Doors open at 7.00pm with video footage from the Australian Darcy Ward benefit meeting being shown before Middlo takes to the stage at around 8.00pm.
All proceeds from the evening will go to Darcy’s fund.
