World class rider Emil Sajfutdinov is one of four 2017 GP riders to have accepted a booking for the DARCY WARD INVITATIONAL meeting which will mark the opening of the Pirates' 2017 season on Friday 24th March.
The curtain raiser is being staged to raise funds for the Darcy Ward Foundation, which was set up to aid the Aussie’s rehabilitation from serious spinal damage, with plans being formulated to assist other athletes with similar injuries.
Alongside Sajfutdinov, who Ward himself describes as "one of my favourite riders", will be GP riders Chris Holder, Jason Doyle and Maciej Janowski with Ward having also booked Brady Kurtz, Jack Holder, Nick Morris, Troy Batchelor and Rory Schlein to give a true Australian feel about the event.
Sajfutdinov tweeted "I'm not often in England but this dude deserves my person on this meeting... I really hope many fans will come for him and we do good show".
