There is a unified feeling amongst the Poole 'Wessex Marine' Pirates that they can go one better in 2026 and secure the league, cup and BSN...
Local lad Kyle Newman has been named the Poole fans' Rider of the Year in front of a large gathering at the club's Annual Awards evening held at the Wimborne Road venue.
Newman who rode the campaign for the Pirates at reserve held off keen competition in the voting to collect the award and that means he has secured the club title in both the Elite league and Premier league this year as he received a similar accolade with the Plymouth Devils.
His closet rival in the Poole vote was Maciej Janowski, the stand-in skipper, who despite missing out in that category was a triple winner as he was voted Team Man of the Year, Rider's Rider of the Year and named the club's website Rider Of the Year due to receiving the most Rider of the Night nominations throughout the campaign.
Vaclav Milik was crowned "Best Newcomer of the Year.
