Pirates Hope for "Ritch (Pick)ings"
Swindon-born Darryl Ritchings is adding a third club to his 2025 season by agreeing to step into the Poole side for a temporary period.
The outpouring of support for injured Darcy Ward extends far beyond the speedway family as Swindon Town Football Club chairman Lee Power epitomised at the weekend.
Ahead of the Robins' home match against Burton Albion on Saturday a collection was held and chairman Power kick-started the appeal with a grand donation of £1,000. The collection was the brainchild of the Town's goalkeeper Ty Belford (pictured below sporting is #DW43 tee-shirt) and his partner Zoe Collmann who are keen speedway fans and regular attendees at the home of the Swindon Robins speedway.
Poole boss Matt Ford expressed his thanks to the Football club for embracing the support appeal "on behalf of Darcy, his family and everyone closely associated with him I would like to salute the marvellous gesture by Mr Power and thank his football club for allowing a collection to be held. I think this just goes to show how much Darcy's predicament has touched the hearts of so many people. He is a brilliant sportsman and his natural talents are clearly appreciated across the world of sport."
