RESULT: FIM SWC RACE OFF

31/07/14

A solid all-round Australian quartet staved off a strong challenge from Sweden to book their place in Saturday's FIM SWC Monster Energy Final on a night where personal glory belonged to evergreen American Greg Hancock.

With 11 point hauls from Darcy Ward, back-from-injury Chris Holder and Troy Batchelor with Jason Doyle just one point shy of that number, the Aussies booked their place in the final with Doyle's heat 18 win over Tomas H Jonasson.

Australia's 43 point score was 11 points greater than Sweden's 32, the Swedes only twice managing to win a race - Jonasson in heat 2 and Oliver Berntzon in heat 11, but the big race winner was the unbeaten Greg Hancock who , with 21 points, virtually single-handedly ensured the USA (26)  disposed of the Czech Republic (24) who were led by Vaclav Milik scoring 9 points.

Australia's victory completes Saturday's line-up alongside  host nation Poland, Event 1 winners Team GB and Event 2 winners Sweden
