SUPPORT TAI'S RIDE FOR GREAT ORMOND STREET

2/07/14

As part of the fund raising ventures of reigning world champion Tai Woffinden on behalf of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, Poole Speedway will be hosting a collection tonight (2nd July) when the world champ himself is in town.

Matt Ford has given his blessing for a collection to be held during the interval, which will involve all the stars on show coming amongst the fans in a bid to help Tai towards the ambitions £100,000 target for the charity.

"Tai is doing a tremendous thing by getting behind this very worthwhile charity, and I would ask our fans to try and help support this initiative as much as they can. Every coin they can donate will be valuable towards the target. This collection is just a small part of what Tai is planning to raise that £100,000 but it will be great gesture  from everyone who chips in.

"As part of the fund raising Tai is planning to ride to Cardiff next week ahead of the British GP at the Millennium Stadium and I am pleased to hear that one of our long term club sponsors and fans, Rob Hawkins, is going to join in. Rob did a similar thing a few years ago for charity and he is looking forward to repeating his efforts again, this time in support of Tai and the kids of Great Ormond Street. It is a fantastic thing he is doing and we will certainly introduce him to the Poole faithful this evening and thank him for his efforts.

Tonight's league meeting against Wolverhampton starts at 7.30pm and Poole will be looking to consolidate their third placing in the league.
