REACTION: PIRATES SUCCUMB TO STRONG OXFORD START

Unbeaten in his five qualifying heats Darcy Ward not only led the Prague GP entering the semi-final draw but was also top of the Grand Prix leaderboard but his night of dreams ended with a third place in the first semi-final, losing out to Finnish GP winner Matej Zagar and three-times world champion Nicki Pedersen
But despite missing out on a 7th ride on the evening, Ward still leaves the Czech Republic in overall third place just a single point behind ever-present Greg Hancock and the Prague victor, for the second season running, world champion Tai Woffinden.
Woffinden's golden gate in the final meant he became the fourth different winner of this year's series and elevated himself to co-series leader with 2013 Pirate Hancock.
Wild card for the meeting Vaclav Milik was involved in a nasty looking heat 7 spill when he was pushed off course by Aussie Troy Batchelor and consequently rode into Jaroslaw Hampel. Thankfully both riders appeared to escape serious injury and both took their places in the re-run with Batchelor disqualified. By claiming second place behind Woffinden in that heat Milik scored his first ever GP points but sadly for the young Czech that was the full extent of his scoring prowess although he was far from disgraced with his hard pressing efforts.
2012 World champion Chris Holder joined Ward as a semi-final eliminator, finishing behind Ward after scraping into the top 8 with an impressive win in heat 20, his second of the night on his way to 8 championship points.
